Brittany Saviers
PhD, OTR/L
Dr. Brittany Saviers is an assistant professor and academic fieldwork coordinator at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) and has practiced in pediatric and family-centered settings since 2008. She earned her PhD in occupational therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her dissertation, Childhood Play as a Predictor for Development of Creative Potential in Adulthood: A Mixed Methods Study, reflects her commitment to understanding how early play experiences influence creativity and shape who we become as occupational beings in adulthood.
Dr. Saviers is also deeply invested in global learning and curriculum internationalization. She founded international fieldwork programs in Costa Rica and Tanzania, where students explore how occupation, health, and play manifest across cultures—fostering both professional growth and intercultural humility. In recognition of this work, she was named a Global Faculty Fellow by UCA’s Global Learning Institute.
She serves in national and community leadership roles, including with the American Occupational Therapy Political Action Committee and the Arkansas Down Syndrome Association. Dr. Saviers regularly presents at national conferences, leads workshops internationally, publishes, and mentors students and practitioners in the areas of play and global learning in occupational therapy.
